HI, I'M KRISTEN.

Therapist.
Wife.
Human.

I'm Kristen Barrick, a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist in Amarillo, Texas. I am a Christian, and my faith informs how I approach relationships and connection. Most of my work centers on relationships: how we connect, communicate, navigate intimacy, and find our way back to each other.

I came to counseling by way of second grade classrooms, children's ministry, and college counseling. When my kids reached middle school, I went back to school myself. In community mental health, I kept finding my way into conversations about shame, disconnection, and intimacy. Those conversations led me to train as a sex therapist.

My husband Dusty and I met our freshman year at Texas A&M. We've been together since 1994 and have two grown children. Relationships are part of my everyday life, too—with all the learning, humor, mistakes, and repair that come with being human.

Here, I share resources and reflections to help make room for more honest conversations.
